Support Potrero Hill public schools and students

The San Francisco Unified School District is projecting an $83 million deficit next year.

That means already bare bones budgets will be even tighter; “non-essential”/non-classroom teachers will be the first to go and students are the ones who will suffer most. Without outside funding from donors like you there will be:
No Art
No Music
No Dance
No Physical Education
No Computer Specialists
No Field Trips
No Literacy Specialists
No Nurses
No Librarians
No Learning Support Professionals

Potrero Hill schools serve a diverse population, a large percentage of which is on free or reduced lunch. Our schools do not have well-endowed PTAs but they do have dedicated families and ambitious students who deserve a top quality education. You’ve seen the changes around the neighborhood – a major facelift on the corner of Missouri & 20th; more families staying in the neighborhood thanks to available preschools and viable elementary schools. Enrollment is rising on the Hill and so are test scores. But this won’t continue unless our community comes together to do what our city and state can’t: help ALL Potrero Hill students get the well-rounded, rich education they deserve.

Donate to PREFund. We are committed to public education in Potrero Hill. In the past 4 years we have:
• Kept young families in the neighborhood by Establishing a Spanish-bilingual preschool
• Saved an elementary school from closure by bringing a coveted Spanish Immersion Program to Daniel Webster, only the 2nd magnet program in the entire Southeast Sector
• Spearheaded major physical improvements/enhancements at Daniel Webster
• Funded programs including tutoring, mentoring, positive play/leadership as well as field trips, additional supplies and staff team building events

Despite how far we’ve come, there’s still a long way to go and we can’t do it alone.

Your donation will help us extend our support to Daniel Webster and other needed programs in the neighborhood.

Your tax deductible contribution will support staff and critical enrichment programs that will be lost due to our state and city budget crisis. To make a contribution, please click here. DONATE NOW.
