The Potrero Residents Education Fund was founded in May of 2006 by a group of Potrero Neighbors, both with and without children, to provide support for educational initiatives in Potrero Hill through grant awards.

Monies come from individual community members and families as well as local merchants and corporations who recognize that state funding alone is not enough to provide the kind of educational excellence we want for the children in our community.

We hope to underwrite the enrichment and academic programs that will make our community and schools thrive. We want to reach every child with opportunities to explore, create, problem solve, observe, connect and otherwise prepare for the world beyond the classroom.

We all recognize that collaboration is the key to success for our neighborhood schools. Making a long-term investment in children is a way to encourage families to stay in Potrero Hill and build a vibrant and stable community.
